ALEX ARANGO

PIANO I ACCORDIAN I GUITAR

Alex was born in Colombia where he grew up listening to Latin genres such as Salsa, Vallenato, and Cumbia. He began playing music at an early age starting with the violin, then the guitar, before settling on the piano. At age 16, he picked up the accordion and began learning folkloric Latin music as well as popular European songs.

He recently graduated from UC San Diego where he studied Jazz piano and music technology. His studies developed his skills as a composer, arranger, producer, performer, and sound engineer. Alex's work aims to combine Latin rhythms with American music, which is something that has earned him praise from the UCSD music faculty.

He is very excited to pass on his knowledge and passion for music to help others reach a higher musical level.
