Daniel is a Mexican born painter/printmaker based in San Diego. He studied Fine Arts at the San Francisco Art Institute and has worked as a bookbinder since graduating in 2013. Most recently, Daniel spent a year traveling, painting and exhibiting in Scotland, Germany, Portugal and Morocco as part of an artist residency. He has also shown his artist books, painting, and prints in shows and galleries in San Diego, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Scotland.

Daniel's philosophy on art education is rooted in the premise that art must ask questions rather than answer them. He sees art as a pure expression of curiosity with his role as an educator being to foster that expression. Daniel believes art is essential to cultivating critical thinking, creative problem solving, empathy, and social connectivity in society.

Daniel enjoys collaborating with other artists, surfing, and boring documentaries.
