As a creative young woman on the autistic spectrum who struggles to find connections, Jessy has used music as a way to express herself and enrich other individuals of the hidden world that exists within the silence.
Jessy began her musical journey with San Diego Children’s Choir when she was in elementary school. She continued singing in her high school choir and the San Diego State University choir, but it was at Kalabash where she really found her musical home as a young, gifted musician.
As a teenager, Jessy began writing and recording her songs under the guidance of her teacher Natasha Kozaily. From this collaborative effort, they produced her first album “Out of the Shadows” in 2018. She has continued to produce and release several singles and EPs with the help of another Kalabash teacher Alex Arango.
Kalabash has been a part of her musical journey since 5th grade. Now we are honored and thrilled to provide her with a new opportunity to thrive and grow aboard our Kalabash ship as a member of our administrative team. We hope that this position will not only be a fruitful new chapter in her life as a young adult but also teach us about her world. We have no doubt this will be a humbling, joyful, and enriching experience for our Kalabash community.
