Lexi Pulido has a distinct vocal tone, achieved from her studies of classical and jazz vocal technique and performance at University of California, San Diego, where she received her B.A. in Music.
Lexi encourages her students to explore their unique qualities of sound and challenges them to develop their musicianship and emotionality to effectively communicate with instrumentalists and establish a commanding stage presence.
A local of San Diego, she has studied music under the guidance of Grammy award-winning producer, Kamau Kenyatta and performed with notable artists, Thalma de Freitas and Matthew Santos. An experienced jazz and blues performer, Lexi is able to offer idiomatic and theoretical knowledge pertaining to the American music. Further, Lexi enjoys offering assistance for those interested in pronunciation of English, Spanish, and Portuguese texts. Having played such roles as Ida in Honk! and performing with the local San Diego groove and soul bands, Lexi is able to accommodate those interest in popular music performance. She has taught voice to children and adults with the belief it is never too late or too early to develop a sound that is comfortable and agreeable.
