Our Story
From Bird Rock to Penzance
Kalabash began its journey in 2015 in San Diego, California. For 10 years Kalabash served the seaside community of Bird Rock and beyond by offering a space for learning and creativity. With a team of teaching-artists and students of all ages, Kalabash offered private and group music lessons, art classes, concerts, events and handmade theatre productions.
THE WINDS OF CHANGE
After a decade of adventures, Kalabash and its captain Natasha Kozaily set sail on a whole new journey across the sea. It meant saying goodbye, which is never easy…
So we threw a big party, sang sea shanties, paraded down the boulevard and passed the torch/keys to the new custodians of our Bird Rock home where Preminger Studios now reside.
We cried, we laughed, we ate tacos, and we put all our memories on the walls of our ship.
