In 2015, Kalabash came to life as a vessel for music, art and theatre. For ten years Kalabash served the good people of San Diego by providing a space for artists to teach, students to learn and a community to create together.
Now, after a decade of sailing the seven thousand seas of stories and songs, the time has come for our ship, and her captain Natasha Kozaily, to set sail on a whole new adventure.

What’s Next?
Kalabash will be dropping anchor in the harbor town of Penzance in the far west of Cornwall, where our ship will be changing shape and preparing for a new chapter of stories and song.

The Odyssey
We are delighted to announce our first Cornish handmade theatre production for children at the Acorn, directed by Miss Nati!
Young artists will help to design and make their own sets, costumes and props while preparing for their role on center stage in Homer’s epic adventure.
This 10 week session, for ages 8-14, will run on Monday evenings at The Acorn starting Jan 12th and culminate in a live performance on March 23rd.

CELEBRATING 10 YEARS
On August 9th, 2025, we celebrated 10 awesome years of Kalabash with drums and songs, a passing of the torch and a fond San Diego farewell to Miss Nati who is now in Cornwall, where a little Kalabash boathouse of dreams is in the making. They say it’s a place of pirates and mermaids and saints and we can’t wait to tell you all about it. Until then…please enjoy this wonderful short film of a beautiful day of bittersweet farewells and new beginnings for us all.
